Have you been to the new UBS Arena? I recently had the opportunity to visit and I have many positive things to say about my experience. The UBS Arena is the new home to the New York Islanders as well as a concert arena. The construction for the arena began on September 23, 2019 and the grand opening was November 20, 2021. The construction only took about a year which is pretty impressive. The exterior design of UBS Arena was inspired by several New York landmarks, both past and present, such as Central Park, Ebbets Field, Grand Central Terminal, Park Avenue Armory, and the Boathouse in Prospect Park. The construction cost an astonishing 1.1 billion dollars.

Even though the outside is very impressive, you must see the interior. The inside of the arena is like a work of art. It consists of one of the best fan apparel stores for the Islanders. It also has a wide assortment of different food. The main screen located above the ice is supposedly one of the best screens in all of the NHL arenas. When you visit, you will see that the food options are almost unlimited, ranging from chicken, to burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. One place that I tried was called Big Chicken, which is owned by Shaq.

The only downside to the arena are the prices.  For example, the arena’s parking lot will run you about $35.00. Even though the food was very good, it wasn’t cheap. A sandwich was about $16-18 dollars and French fries were about $8.00. The regular drinks could range from $8-10 and a alcoholic beverage is about $15-25. If you know someone who has a lot of money or possibly a big company, you should advise them to to buy one of the UBS arena suites. The suites are absolutely insane. They range in price from $500,000 to upwards of a million dollars. The high price includes unlimited food and drinks for any games that you want to attend. There are also other season ticket plans, but these are more affordable. If you visit the arena, you will see certain seats that are gray which means they are part of the season ticket program. The season tickets holders are mandated to be in a commitment for 4 years. The season ticket holders get their own food area which is included in the price of the season tickets.

If you ever thought of going to the arena, I would highly recommend it. I know most people enjoy a place filled with high energy. If that’s what you like, you will definitely fit right in at this arena!
