(This article contains spoilers for the 2013 Disney movie Frozen)

The hit Disney movie Frozen is probably one of the most well known movies to date, and even if you’ve never seen it you’ve definitely heard of it – whether it was on tv, a piece of merchandise or hearing “Let It Go” for the hundredth time somewhere online. But what if the hit movie was actually a cover up?

Up until the movie’s release (November 27th, 2013), if you were to Google “Disney’s Frozen”, all of the articles that popped up were rumors and theories about Walt Disney freezing his body or supposed articles saying why he chose to freeze his body. Now if you Google the same thing, everything that pops up is related to the 2013 hit movie. 

Walt Disney was the founder and creator of Disney, who opened up the attractions to Walt Disney Land and World, and as his creations soon sparked worldwide, people longed to meet him. His most famous creation is Disney’s Mascot, Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney passed away on December 15th, 1966, after battling Lung Cancer.

Many people believed that Walt Disney chose to freeze his body so that, when the proper technology was developed, scientists would be able to take his frozen body and bring him back to life to see how his company skyrocketed and what is new and different in the world. When a body is buried over time they decompose and cannot be preserved. With modern technology, it has been proven that once a living creature has been frozen out and thawed that their heart can start beating again and they are alive and breathing like nothing has ever happened. According to bbc.com, a hiker, Michael Knapinsk, died from frostbite for 45 minutes, his heart started beating and didn’t wake up until 2 days later. He is still doing well today. This proves that after once a body has been frozen it can be brought back to life.

After 55 years, people still believe this and have taken it to a higher level, believing that Disney is hiding something. In 2013, when the sensational movie, Frozen, was released, conspiracy theorists speculated that this movie was a coverup for his death.

Frozen is a movie about a fearless, independent woman (Anna) who must find her older sister, who is also the Queen (Elsa) who suffered from self-doubt and a fear of her secretive ice powers being released to her kingdom. The kingdom is trapped in a never ending winter and they need Elsa to defrost the kingdom. Accidentally, out of self defense and tension between Elsa and Anna, Elsa sends an ice spike into her heart. At the end of the movie Anna sacrifices herself to save Elsa, and from the ice spike Anna’s body freezes. With Elsa’s act of guilt, she grips onto her frozen sister and Anna thaws out, from the heart. 

Anna thaws out from the heart – when scientists freeze an organism and thaw them back to life, the first place the blood flows to the heart. Many people think that this is a coverup, although Disney themselves have supposedly denied this by saying, “The only Frozen people here (Disney World/Land) are Elsa and Anna.” 

There are many other articles on this manner with their theories; while many think this is just a weird coincidence, others think this was a coverup to the truth. There have also been articles where it has been “debunked” on why there could be no way Walt Disney’s body is frozen and can be thawed out. I certainly hope this article brought a new perspective to this movie, and with that said, stay curious my friends.
