Meet Sofia Valdebenito, a senior at East Rockaway High School and a 2nd year writer for The Gull! Sofia has really gathered a passion for journalism throughout her junior year, finding joy in writing all sorts of pieces, ranging from editorials to narratives. Sofia also has a passion for giving back to the community and is able to showcase it as president of Key Club. When she isn’t running around, Sofia loves learning new pieces on the viola and piano and crafting items with her sewing machine.
