Walking through the empty halls, bathroom pass in hand. Suddenly, there was a scream as a shot echoed in the distance.
A cold, intense wave of fear rippled through my body as I scrambled to hide. Lights dimmed and halls now silent, I was alone. Frantically knocking on classroom doors, I was left ignored and hopeless.
Behind me, the sound of metal clanking against the lockers got closer and closer. I hid behind a cabinet, drenched in sweat and terror. The metal stopped.
Thinking I was fine, I looked up and saw the barrel looking me straight in the eye.
