Curriculum Fair at ERHS

The annual ERHS curriculum fair, which was presented to all students on January 20th, 2021, was filled with a lot of educational and important information. The curriculum fair is an opportunity for students and families to check out classes that people may want to take based on their personal strengths and interests. For those who missed it, here are the course offerings for next year.  

For the future eighth-graders, your mandatory classes include the following:

  • English 8 (everyday class)
  • Social Studies 8 (everyday class)
  • Algebra 1 (everyday class +2 days of enrichment)
  • Living Environment (everyday +2 days of lab)
  • Spanish 1B or Italian 1B (everyday class)
  • P.E. (every other day)
  • Health (2 days)
  • Art (every other day)
  • Home and Careers (every other day)  

Other elective classes include the following: Tech 8 and a Music class every other day.  The music class offerings are Junior chorus, Junior Orchestra, and Junior Band.

The Academic Support classes vary by student need and include the following: Reading, Math AIS (days vary), English AIS (days vary), Living Environment Inclusion Support (days vary), and Algebra 1 Inclusion Support (days vary).  

For the future ninth graders, your mandatory classes include the following:

  • English 9H
  • Global 9R or Global 9H
  • Geometry ACC or Algebra
  • Earth Science R and Earth Science Lab (lab is every other day)
  • Spanish 2 or Italian 2
  • P.E. (every other day)

Other elective classes include the following: Any of the Art electives, a Senior Music class, a Business class, Science Research, Public Speaking, Theatre 1, Theatre 2, a Family and Consumer Science class, or a Technology class.  

The Academic Support classes vary by student need and include the following:  English 9 Support, Algebra Support, Algebra Inclusion Support, Earth Science Inclusion Support, Remedial Reading, Resource Room, and ENL Support.

For the future tenth graders, your mandatory classes include the following:

  • English 10R or English 10H
  • Global 10R or AP World History
  • Geometry or Algebra Accelerated
  • Earth Science and Earth Science Lab or Chemistry and Chemistry Lab
  • Spanish 3 or Italian 3
  • P.E. and Health

Other elective classes include the following: Any of the art electives (as long as you have taken foundations), Culinary Arts and Nutrition I and II, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Business electives, Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Music and Media, Science Research, Public Speaking, Theatre I and or II, Writer’s Workshop, Family and Criminal Law, and Technology classes.

The Academic Support classes vary by student need and include the following: English 10 Support, Geometry Support, Geometry Inclusion Support, Earth Science Inclusion Support, Global 10 Inclusion Support,  Remedial Reading, Resource Room, and ENL Support.

For the future eleventh graders, your mandatory classes include the following:

  • English 11R or AP Language
  • US History R or AP US History
  • Geometry or Foundations of Algebra II OR Pre-Calculus ACC
  • Science:
    • Chemistry R AND Lab or Chemistry Foundations or AP Chemistry AND Lab
    • Physics R AND Lab or AP Physics AND Lab
    • AP Biology AND Lab
    • AP Environmental Science AND Lab
    • Marine Biology (half-year) or Forensic Science (half-year) or Anatomy & Phys./EMT
  • Spanish 4R or Spanish 4H or Italian 4H
  • Physical Education/Unified P.E and Health (only if you didn’t take it in tenth grade)

Other elective classes include the following: Any Art elective as long as you’ve taken Foundations, Culinary Arts, Interior Design, Fashion Design, SUPA Child Development, Business electives, any of the previously offered Music classes and additionally Music Media, Science Research, SUPA Psychology, Family and Criminal Law, all previously offered English classes, and any Technology elective.

The Academic Support classes vary by student need and include the following: English 11 Support, English 11 Inclusion Support, Geometry Support, Geometry Inclusion Support, US History Inclusion Support, Algebra II Support, Remedial Reading, Resource Room, and ENL Support.

For the future twelfth graders, your mandatory classes include the following:

  • English 12R or AP Literature
  • Part. in Gov’t/Economics or AP Government & Politics/Economics
  • Algebra II or Pre-Calculus or AP Calculus or AP Statistics or Topics in College Math
  • Science:
    • Chemistry R AND Lab or Chemistry Foundations
    • Physics R AND Lab or AP Physics AND Lab
    • AP Biology AND Lab
    • AP Environmental Science AND Lab
    • Marine Biology (half-year) or Forensic Science (half-year)
    • Anatomy & Phys./EMT
  • AP Spanish or AP Italian
  • Physical Education/Unified PE (every other day) and Health If not taken in 10th or 11th grade

Other elective classes include the following: All Art electives, all Family and Consumer Science electives, all Music electives, all Business electives, all Science electives, all English electives, all Social Studies electives, and all Technology electives.
