Senior Spotlight: Katie LaBarbera

Senior Spotlight: Katie LaBarbera

Kirsten Carman, President

Meet Katie LaBarbera, member of Class of 2023. Katie has become a friendly face and mentor at ERHS in the last four years. Highly involved in Rock Rivalry, Girls Varsity Volleyball, and other organizations within the school, Katie has never failed to lend a helping hand to her classmates and is a staple to the success of the Class of 2023. She also thrives academically, prioritizing her schoolwork and taking multiple AP classes.

Get to know a little more about Katie! Here are some of her responses to questions about her high school career and post-graduation plans:

What are your plans following high school?

“Going to college; I plan to major in Early Childhood Education/Special Education.”

What is something you will truly miss at ERHS after you graduate?

“Rock Rivalry, even though it is always one of the most stressful, and hectic times of the year, I wouldn’t trade any of the late nights and hour-long rehearsals for anything. Doing it as a grade and sticking together, most definitely made it easier and such an unforgettable experience.”

Describe each year of high school in ONE word.

“Freshman year: exciting, Sophomore year: unpredictable, Junior year: eventful, Senior year: surreal.”

Finish the sentence: I would not have gotten through high school without…

“My best friends who basically became my sisters through high school.”

If you could give one piece of advice to the underclassmen, what would it be?

“Don’t worry about the little things, everything will figure itself out eventually.”
