Saturday, October 30th, 2021 – a big day for East Rockaway High School that will go down in the books. On this day, East Rockaway High School opened it’s brand new athletic complex at a ribbon cutting ceremony! For the past year, East Rockaway athletics had to use other fields, like Malverne and Oceanside, as their home field for sports. We appreciate and thank them for that. Now, teams at East Rockaway High School, like football and soccer, can finally come home to play in their brand new athletic complex. The new athletic complex has a state of the art facility with a brand new track, a football/soccer field, and baseball and softball fields, along with wide stands for the fans to come and watch. Even though there were delays with getting the field ready, East Rockaway has done it. Although it has taken some time to get to this point, and there is still work to be done, it is a great site to see. The students at East Rockaway who will play on that field can personally host their first and last home game, instead of having to go to a town over. Opening day was a huge success and a proud memory for the staff, coaches, alumni, and students who got a chance to experience the brand new fields at the school.
