Summer Fun Ideas

The summer of 2021 will be one to remember.  Since everyone is getting vaccinated, life is starting to return to normal again.  Also, now that mask mandates are more relaxed and more places are opening up people will want to go out and do things.  Here’s a list of ideas of activities to do over the summer.

  1. Bike RidesThe great outdoors are meant to be enjoyed.  Get some fresh air and take a break from life by going on a bike ride.  Invite your friends and family to come with you if you get lonely.  As they say, “The more the merrier!”
  2. Projector Movie Nights – Since the weather is beautiful, why not take your movie nights outdoors!  Set up a white sheet in your backyard and put out beach towels or blankets.  You don’t need a projector, you can use your phone or even just watch on a laptop.  Set up some snacks, invite your friends over, and enjoy a great movie!
  3. Go to the Beach or Pool – The beach is the first thing I think of when people say ‘summer’.  The hot sand under your feet, the cool ocean breeze on your face, and the ocean waves sound in the distance.  It’s the perfect summer spot.  You can tan, play games, play in the sand, read, or go in the water.  There are so many options.  Some people aren’t big fans of the beach, so the pool is another option for you.  There’s no salt water getting in your mouth or sand sticking to your feet.  Instead there are pool games that you can play or just relax on a float.  Either option is perfect for summer.
  4. Picnic – Picnics are one of the perfect ways to get fresh air.  You are eating outside with friends or family and having a good time.  You can sit in the shade under a beautiful tree or in a big field with the sun shining on your face.  After eating you can play games and talk.  Simple as that!
  5.  Amusement Parks – Amusement parks have games, roller coasters, food, and you make a bunch of memories when you are there.  From sitting on a roller coaster with an adult to sitting next to your best friend screaming at the top of your lungs.  Or winning prizes to play with at home to winning prizes to give to a girlfriend or boyfriend.  Either way memories are easily made and you feel like a kid again.
  6. Bonfires – Night hangouts are almost always lit by the glow of a fire.  The smell of burning wood fills the air along with the smell of roasted marshmallows.  Smores and bonfires go hand and hand.  If you’re with your friends or family, bonfires are always fun!
  7. BBQ – Barbeques are a crucial part of the summer.  When it smells like someone is having a barbeque, it always reminds me of the Fourth of July.  There’s a variety of food for everyone to enjoy if it’s at a pool party or just sitting outside with your friends and family.
  8.  Road Trips – Over the summer, families and friends get away for a couple days to just relax and have fun.  If you are going to a particular destination or different destinations, the journey to get there is always more fun.  If you are playing car games, listening to music, or talking there is never a dull moment on a road trip.

If you ever want to try something new this summer, here are some ideas!  Have fun and make it your own!
