The newest edition to the School Counseling office: The Student Center

Did you know that there’s a new edition to East Rockaway High School? A place where all students are welcome to unwind, get work done, and just hang out? This is our very own Student Center. The Center is located in the School Counseling office and is open to students all day during their lunch or free periods. Being that it is always accessible, it is a utilizable space for students that don’t have a class, a place to eat lunch, or a place to get work doneā€¦ but that is not all, it is also great for simply a change of scenery.

There is much that can be done in the Student Center whether it is studying, completing homework, taking a needed mental break, or eating lunch with friends. Along with this, it is an awesome place where you can work on and ask questions about college essays and applications. Additionally, activities to be held in the Student Center are being developed by the Guidance office, so stay tuned!

What’s even more exciting about the recent idea for a Student Center is that it is still in development. This means that students are able to (and encouraged) to make recommendations for the room setup, environment, and dynamic. With any suggestions or questions feel free to reach out to Mr. Madden or their Guidance counselor!
