The Addams Family Musical

The East Rockaway School District has confirmed that the 2024-2025 musical is The Addams Family! Last year, Matilda was performed on two different nights to packed houses! While doing the musical, many have built memories along the way, from cast members and crew to the pit and many more. For example, Megan Acuti has been in every musicals since 4th grade, and each year has been filled with many special memories. She says, “My favorite parts from last year’s musical were dress rehearsals and hanging out with my best friends.”  Ellie Nowaksoki was a part of the stage crew last year and will be doing the same again. She says, “I loved painting the sets and putting it all together the day of the show.” Trey Buckman was also a part of the show last year, and he says, “Nobody was mean or made fun of you when you messed up your dance or lines or you sang the wrong lyrics. They were all there for you.” These are just a few of the many cast, crew, and pit members that have made many memories last year doing the musical.    

How to get involved?

Auditioning 

If you want to get involved in the musical this year, there are many different ways. If you love to sing and dance, auditioning is a great way to get involved! Auditions are the 24th and 25th of October. It is a great opportunity to learn new skills and build strong friendships. 

Stage Crew 

Have stage fright or don’t think that auditioning for a part might be right for you? Stage crew is a great way to get involved behind the scenes. As a member of stage crew, you will paint the sets, build set pieces, and move pieces around while the performance is occurring.

Join The Pit 

Love music, but don’t want to be on stage? Join the pit! While being in the pit, you will play the music for the musical, learn new techniques, and build stronger skills in the process.
