My Cat

Zara Soofizada, Staff Writer

Fingers engulfed in a heat of peace

A desire for this love to always be

Right in front of me

With no notions of worries

Gratifying noises infuse my ears

While we are held together

As if sheltered on our own,

Our own miniscule crate filled

With the fur and warmth while

Lofty green eyes stare at me

Knowing that they see me

And I feel my day is saved

To have a lasting tensity

Gone within a moment’s sigh

Is a true bestowal anyone can get

To know that emotion deep inside

You sense raucous already gone
