“Senior Spotlight: Daniel Ricci”

The Gull will be spending the next several months featuring a member of the class of 2021! Catch up with a different senior every week in our Senior Spotlight feature below.

Meet Daniel Ricci.  He is one of our seniors at East Rockaway High School and he is another one of our talented and well versed seniors!  He grew up in East Rockaway and went to Centre Avenue.  His hard work and determination led to the path to success.  Next year he is planning on attending the City College of New York in Harlem.  He also is currently working at a political firm with one of New York City’s biggest campaigns as a field supervisor during his free time.  Other hobbies of his include, but are not limited to, hockey and baking. ERHS is so lucky to have him.

Dan was asked an assortment of questions about his time here at ERHS, including the following:

What song title best describes your senior year experience?

“Bad” -Michael Jackson

What is your specialty lunch?

“Of course the Italian specialty- Hero with chicken cutlets, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, and extra balsamic glaze.”

What is your favorite memory from a teacher?

“Walking into Physics every day and hearing Palermo’s funny dad jokes.”

What are your plans for the future?

“I plan on going to City College, and applying myself to as many things as possible in order to figure out what I would like to major in.”

What people (friends, coaches, teachers, etc.) have had a positive influence on your life?

“Mr. Cuttitta, Mr. Rinn, Mr. Palermo, and friends Emma, Nick, Gabby, Julian.”

What is something that you will truly miss at ERHS after you graduate?

“Being able to be with the people who I grew up with and shared many memories with, and making many memories throughout my journey such as Rock Rivalry, playing sports with friends, and getting the opportunity to try so many different things that I didn’t know I would like.”
