The New York Mets have been having a very busy off season.  They recently acquired relief pitcher Antonio Bastardo. On January 20, 2016, the Mets signed Antonio Bastardo for a two year $12,000,000 deal. He will now be a primary reliever with Addison Reed that will set up closer Jeurys Familia. Last season Antonio Bastardo had been on the Pittsburgh Pirates and he had 4 wins and 1 loss with a 2.98 ERA and one save in 66 relief appearances last season. In Antonio Bastardo’s career with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates Bastardo had thrown 388 strikeouts and  has a total win-loss record of 24-19. Antonio Bastardo will now be a key pitcher in the Mets bullpen now that the Amazin’s had just recently traded their all star second baseman Daniel Murphy to the Washington Nationals.
